Is It Mich-Again?

After a big win Wednesday over the 11th ranked Michigan State Spartans, the Michigan Wolverines had their work cut out for them with another ranked team today, number 21 Wisconsin. The Wolverines played hard nose basketball and edged out the badgers 85-76. This was a big win for the Wolverines since is marked the first time they have beaten consecutive ranked opponents since 1903. I think?? My point being it was a hell of a long time ago.

Michigan started the game by scoring first and never looked back. They led the entire game. The Wolverines were led by Dion Harris with 23 points and Courtney Sims hiked up her skirt and scored 18. Wisconsin should have known this game was over when Graham "Big Country Boy" Brown set a devastating pick that practically knocked out Kammron Taylor.

After the game Tommy Amaker commented: "This was another big win for us and was an overall team success. Courtney Sims stepped up and she had a big game. She should be happy with her effort and should be a proud girl based on her performance. I just wish she came to play every game".

This was a huge win for the program since it puts them in a tie with Illinois for first place in the Big Ten. Illinois holds the tie-breaker due to their win against Michigan in Champaign. Michigan does look to be tournament bound and maybe these wins are what they needed. This weeks poles have them ranked 20th(ESPN/USA Today) and 21st(AP).

It is about time that the Wolverines win some big games against ranked opponents. These are the wins that can get them back on the basketball map and show that they are a force to be reckoned with. Growing up a poor young boy on the tuff streets of Ypsilanti I can remember when the Wolverines were a National contender each year. I hope this is not just a fluke and they build and continue to get back to were they once were.

Just a thought: If Courtney Sims played with 1/3 of the heart of a Graham Brown, he might be an All-American??

Kenny Bloggins is not to be messed with!!

After a fun evening of hanging out with my friends. Drew Rosenblog decided to challenge KB for the belt. Bad idea, as you will see with the following photo montage.

First he tried with the "Sucker Punch". Stopped dead in his tracks with my Tiger Style.

Then I had to open up a can of whoop ass. I hated to do it, but Drew had it coming.

Drew tried to use the ground back defense.

Drew learned a hard lesson this night, but he is a better person for it.

UM Finalizes 2006 Schedule........

The University of Michigan Football team has put the final touches on the 2006 schedule. The final piece was a home opener against SEC opponent Vanderbilt. Initially this game was set up to be a game between U of M and Ball State. Ball State agreed to play the game on November 4th which was a bye week from the Big Ten schedule. This is the first time that I can remember that Michigan has played a non-conference opponent in the middle of the Big-Ten play.

Michigan has seen Vanderbilt in the past. This will be the 11th meeting between Michigan and Vandy. Michigan leads the series 9-0-1, and are 7-0 at home. This will be their first meeting since 1969.
