UM Finalizes 2006 Schedule........

The University of Michigan Football team has put the final touches on the 2006 schedule. The final piece was a home opener against SEC opponent Vanderbilt. Initially this game was set up to be a game between U of M and Ball State. Ball State agreed to play the game on November 4th which was a bye week from the Big Ten schedule. This is the first time that I can remember that Michigan has played a non-conference opponent in the middle of the Big-Ten play.

Michigan has seen Vanderbilt in the past. This will be the 11th meeting between Michigan and Vandy. Michigan leads the series 9-0-1, and are 7-0 at home. This will be their first meeting since 1969.

Michigan Tidbits: Backup quarterback, Matt Gutierrez (right) and runningback Max Martin (left) have decided to transfer. Gutierrez will attend Idaho State, and Martin will attend the University of Alabama.
